Partnership for 2010 Colon Cancer Challenge

John C. LaRosa, MD, President at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center
and Thomas Weber, MD, Professor of Surgery and Founder President of the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation
met to discuss plans for partnership for this year’s New York Colon Cancer Challenge.
Referring to the 2010 Challenge, Dr. LaRosa said,
“This a great opportunity not only for us to raise funds for research, education and clinical services
at our Medical Center, but also for us to educate our communities abut colorectal cancer and its prevention.”
Dr. Weber thanked Dr. LaRosa for SUNY’s support and Dr. Michael Zenilman, MD, Chairman of Surgery at SUNY Downstate (not pictured)
for his strong support of colorectal cancer translational research in the Department of Surgery.
Dr. LaRosa and Dr. Weber also announced the SUNY Downstate New York Colon Cancer Challenge Kick-Off Breakfast
to be held at Downstate on Monday, January 25, 2010.
Referring to the SUNY Downstate, Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation partnership, Dr. Weber remarked,
“This is great news for the fight against colorectal cancer in New York City!”
