Online Resource Provides Support Network for Those Affected by Colon Cancer
The Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing colorectal cancer incidence and death in the United States, announced today it is partnering with healtheo360, an online health resource and support network for patients, caregivers, family and friends.
"Healtheo360 is honored to be partnering with the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation to support patients with colon cancer and their caregivers,” said David Duplay, founder of healtheo360. “Healtheo360 was developed with one purpose in mind — to provide our members with a safe online community to find support, encouragement, inspiration and a sense of belonging.”
Through the partnership, colon cancer patients will benefit from services such as Virtual Social Therapy,® peer counseling, support groups, educational publications and access to a library of video content from other patients and caregivers. Additionally, patients can share their health story through blogs and video, and friends and family are encouraged to be a part of the community and share how the illness affects everyone.
“Colorectal cancer is something someone should never have to deal with alone. Healtheo360 provides a platform for those affected by the disease to connect with and learn from others who are going through similar experiences. At the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation, we’re keenly aware of how colon cancer affects everyone, and this partnership with healtheo360 will provide an added support to our community,” said Dr. Thomas Weber, M.D., FACS, founder of the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation, professor of surgery at the State University of New York at Downstate and chief of surgery at the Department of Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn Campus.
Membership for healtheo360 is free, and those interested in joining are encouraged to share their colon cancer story at www.healtheo360.com.
